Automation and Programmability

How modern networks are managed with controllers, APIs and code instead of one device at a time, and where AI and machine learning fit in.

Intermediate · 4 lessons

So far you have configured devices one at a time on the CLI. This course shows the other way networks are run today: a controller such as Catalyst Center, REST APIs that return JSON, and tools like Ansible and Terraform that keep many devices consistent. It uses one small lab throughout: a NetOps PC (10.10.0.50) and Catalyst Center (10.10.0.10) on a management network behind R1, which manages the access switches SW1 and SW2. The last lesson looks at what AI can and can't do for network operations.
