RouteLearn.net is a free site with network tools and networking lessons. You don't need an account, and the site doesn't ask for your name or email address. This page explains, in plain words, what little information is involved when you use the site.
The short version
- No accounts, no sign-up, no newsletter.
- RouteLearn.net doesn't set cookies.
- Your lesson progress and practice scores stay in your own browser.
- What you type into a tool is used to run that check and is not saved by the site.
- RouteLearn.net doesn't sell or share personal data.
Information stored in your browser
Some features remember things using your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device and is never sent to the site:
- Which lessons you have opened, so the course pages can show your progress.
- Your last CCNA practice score and your flashcard boxes.
- Your subnetting practice settings and score.
You can clear it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. Private or incognito windows forget it when they close.
Information you type into tools
Calculators (subnet, VLSM, bandwidth and so on) run entirely in your browser: what you type never leaves your device.
Lookup tools (DNS, IP lookup, WHOIS, SSL, port and header checks, blacklist checks) send the domain name, IP address or host name you enter to the RouteLearn.net server, which runs the check and returns the result. These inputs and results are not stored. To run some checks the server asks public services on your behalf, for example DNS servers, domain registries (RDAP/WHOIS), Team Cymru for network (ASN) details and DNS blacklist operators. Those services see the address or name being checked, but not who asked.
Your IP address
Like every website, the RouteLearn.net server sees the IP address your request comes from. The “What is my IP” tool shows it back to you. To stop abuse, the lookup tools count requests per IP address for a few minutes in memory; this count is not written to disk and disappears on its own.
Hosting and other services
- Hosting: the site runs on Vercel. Like any host, Vercel processes technical request data (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and keep it secure. See Vercel's own privacy policy for details.
- Fonts: the site's fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers to download them.
RouteLearn.net doesn't use analytics or tracking scripts.
Children
The site is meant for students and professionals. It doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If what the site collects changes (for example if ads or a contact form are added), this page and the date at the top will be updated before the change goes live.
