CCNP Enterprise

BGP and Cisco SD-WAN

These courses start where the CCNA stops. BGP is how organisations connect to their internet providers and how the internet itself is routed; Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN is how many of them now run their wide area network. Each course is built from Cisco's published CCNP exam topics and taught on one lab network, with labelled example output, labs and questions with explanations.

The courses

Where to start

  • BGP assumes CCNA-level routing: the routing table, administrative distance and OSPF. If those are new, start with the Routing and OSPF courses.
  • Advanced BGP follows the BGP course and goes past the exam topics into designs used at work.
  • Cisco SD-WAN assumes CCNA-level routing and VPN basics. BGP and OSPF matter on the LAN side of its routers, so the BGP course helps but is not required.
  • Advanced Cisco SD-WAN follows the Cisco SD-WAN course and concentrates on design, policy, high availability and operating the fabric.

What is planned

Planned lessons appear greyed in each course outline until they are written. The SD-WAN courses are planned in full and the first lessons are written; Advanced BGP opens when its first lesson is ready:
